Background

The best way to explore time series feed data for devices is by using one or more of the functions of the device panel, including:

  • Browse forward and backwards in time. 
  • Zoom in and out. 
  • Apply time range shortcuts. 
  • Select and apply a custom time range. 
  • Jump to real time (current time) to view a live update. 

Device Feed Data tools

Browse forward and backward in time

  1. Locate the device panel of interest within the Device Panels screen.
  2. Move your cursor over the chart until it turns into a left-right arrow.
  3. Click and drag the chart from left to right. The data may need to reload if you scroll far enough.

Zoom in and out

  1. Locate the device panel of interest on the Device Panels screen.
  2. In the top center, click the button with the + icon to zoom in, or click the button with the – icon to zoom out. The chart will refresh with data from the selected time range.

Apply time range shortcuts

  1. Locate the device panel of interest on the Device Panels screen.
  2. Locate the 6 buttons below the chart. The buttons that are visible are dependent on the type of device that you are viewing.
  3. Click one of the buttons. The chart will refresh with data from the selected time range.

Select and apply a custom time range

  1. Locate the device panel of interest within the Device Panels screen.
  2. Locate the calendar icon below the chart with 3 shortcut buttons on either side of it.
  3. Click the button with the calendar icon. The Select Time Range overlay appears.
  4. Select a start date and an end date using the text boxes.
  5. Click the Set button. The chart will refresh with data from the selected time range.

Jump to real time.

  1. Locate the device panel of interest within Device Panels.
  2. Click the black Zoom to Real Time button in the bottom right corner of the chart. The chart will refresh with data from the selected time range. The button will only appear if the currently selected time range is not already real time.
